Elder Care Project:

We have elected to participate in one Elder Care project this year.  We will work on the project in the spring of 2004.  The beneficiary of our effort has not yet been selected because, frankly, they get too excited about it and can't wait for the job to be done!  We'll keep you up to date as we near the selection process.

There also is a new Elder Care initiative involving placing medical and other information concerning elderly patients on their refrigerators.  Let us know if that is something you'd like to get involved in.

Alan McCleod Inner City Baseball League:

Baseball fever is sweeping South Florida!  Our Baseball League, administered by the L.A. Lee Family YMCA, is up and running at the PALs field.  We're going to be more active than ever this year -- barbequeing, chasing down foul balls, heck, maybe even playing a softball game against the parents of the kids in the league!  Dust off your spikes, oil up the glove, and get in the game.

[On March 5th, we presented Curtis Artis, the Director of the L.A. Lee Family YMCA with our check for $4000 to fund this year's league.]

Sun-Sentinel Diversity Venture Fund:

Our participation with the Diversity Venture Fund is greater than ever this year.  We have a team from our Club that is evaluating funding applications.  On March 26th, we presented the S-S DVF with our Club's check in the amount $2,500.

For more information on any of these activities, contact Anne O'Connell Community Service Chair.
